FC Twente won 2-1 away against Lincoln Red Imps in the Conference League and secured its second victory in the competition. Wout Weghorst scored the 0-2 from a rebound, but the striker acknowledged that Twente should have scored more after creating numerous chances. According to Weghorst, the team controlled the match for long periods and regained control through composure and organisation after halftime. The hosts scored from a free kick when Mariano Maroto took advantage of a mistake in Twente’s wall. Weghorst accepted responsibility, saying he had opened the wall by trying to jump. Despite the sloppy goal, Twente never faced serious danger and remains in the top group with six points from two matches. Pafos FC is the next opponent.
